The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

I, along with many others, have been waiting close to two years to see what Suzanne Collin's best selling sequel would be like on the big screen. Catching Fire was by far my favorite book of the trilogy and pretty much needless to say I'm a tribute(member of Hunger Game's fandom). I am giving this movie a POP!

I so love this movie and as I was thinking about what I should write for my review, I realized that I couldn't come up with one negative thing to say about it! I loved Catching Fire so much more than the original film. I think what made a huge difference was the director they had for the film and the actors being a tad bit more experienced since the original film launched their careers. In addition to the better directing, the screenplay I think was so much better. We got the perfect amount of character development and I loved how accurate to the book it actually was.

I loved getting to see our familiar faces in the film. Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence: Silver Linings Playbook, X-MEN First Class, Winter's Bone), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson: Bridge to Terribithia, The Kids Are Alright, American Splendor) , Gale (Liam Hemsworth: Paranoia, The Expendables 2, The Last Song), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson:Now You See Me, Zombieland, No Country For Old Men) and Effie (Elizabeth Banks: Modern Family, The Next Three Days, People like us) were all just as amazing as they were if not better. However I was just as pleased with the new cast. Sam Clafin (Snow White and the Huntsman, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, United), Jena Malone (Sucker Punch, Pride and Prejudice, Into the Wild) and Jeffery Wright (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Source Code) were flawless in their performances I fell in love with them the second they came on-screen.

In all seriousness though, the execution was flawless. I greatly applaud the post-production department the film was edited and effected to perfection. It is an incredibly amazing adventure. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you won't want it to end. It is a must-see for sure. So overall, in case I need to say it again, I loved this movie. Beautifully written, directed, preformed, edited. It was just a great overall. I am very excited to see it again. That is why this movie is a POP!

until next time PEACE OUT GIRLSCOUTS!!!
