Muppets Most Wanted

Amazed with their re-found success, Kermit the Frog and his friends are approached by Dominic Badguy to go on a world tour. Unknown to them, this is all part of the sinister plan of Constantine, the world's most evil frog, to become the greatest thief of all time. After making sure that Kermit is jailed as himself, Constantine impersonates him to use the Muppets' tour as cover for his scheme. While Sam the Eagle and Inspector Jean Pierre Napoleon investigate, the Muppets find their friend seems strangely changed even as Kermit desperately attempts to escape to stop the impostor. Only when Walter, Fozzie and Animal realize the truth is there a chance to prevent Constantine from pulling off the crime of the century.

I don't think I could give a bigger POP! to the Muppets Most Wanted. If I'm completely honest I am going to say that this was my favorite of all the Muppet movies. The reason I say this is because I loved the story line, the clever one-liners, the humor that was both for adults, teens, and children. Oh and let's not forget the music!

Some of my favorite parts of the movie was the different celebrity cameos such as Usher, Lady GaGa, Tom Hiddleston, Ross Lynch, Toby Jones, and Frank Langella just to name a few.

The main cast included the usual Muppet Crew. Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, The Electric Mayhem and the rest of the gang. Ricky Gervais(The Invention of Lying, The Office, Cemetery Junction), Ty Burrell(Modern Family, The Incredible Hulk, Dawn of the Dead), and Tina Fey(Mean Girls, Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock).  They were all awesomely phenomenal and hilarious.

This movie most defiantly lived up to its hype and it's title of a Muppet film. So a POP!

Mr. Peabody & Sherman

Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine - The WABAC - to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man. (or dog). But when Sherman takes The WABAC out for a joyride to impress his school mate Penny, they accidentally rip a hole in the universe, ordering chaos to some of the most important events in world history. Before they forever alter the time stream of the past, present, and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, facing the most daunting challenge of any era: parenthood. Together, the time traveling trio will make their own mark on history.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman was a really fun super cute movie with lots of funny puns. I think that it was a cute plot and incredible animation. I liked it a lot, however it wasn't my favorite. With all the new kid films that are being released I thought that it had some standards to live up to that it didn't quite meet. I am however going to give this film a POP! because it really was a cute story, it made me laugh and the audience to which it's geared towards will really love it.

I think they did an incredible job introducing the characters Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell: Modern Family, Dawn of the Dead, The Incredible Hulk) and Sherman (Max Charles: The Amazing Spiderman, The Three Stooges, The Neighbor's) for those like me who knew nothing about the father-son duo. I really liked the pro-adoption and pro-family messages and that they maid it a point that obedience is important.

So this is it for my Mr. Peabody & Sherman post. Thanks for reading please share with your friends! And look for more reviews in the future! UNTIL NEXT TIME.....

Gimme Shelter

Gimme Shelter  is about 16 year old Apple. Her mother, June, an addict, is both verbally and physically abusive. Apple knows she has to get out of her abusive home. To do this she runs away from her mother and tracks down her father whom she has never known. Apple begs her father, who is a Wall Street Broker, Tom Fitzpatrick, to take her in. In the few days she stays with her father, she learns she's pregnant. Her father's wife takes her to abort her child. When she refuses, Apple is forced to leave her father's home, making her homeless. Apple is on the run yet again. After being in a life-threatening car accident, she is put into a hospital and is taken under the wing of Father McCarthy. He tells Apple of a shelter for pregnant young women run by a woman named Kathy. Here, Apple begins to interact with the other girls who are in the same situation, and she gradually begins to make a family for herself.

I am going to rate Gimme Shelter with a POP! I really enjoyed this film. So let's get down to business. First I want to talk about Vanessa Hudgens' performance. The role of Apple Bailey is very different from the roles that she is known for. Such as her part in the Disney classic High School Musical, and her part in Sucker Punch and Spring Breakers. I absolutely loved how she portrayed the character Apple. You could really see her transformation into a completely different person to fit the role and I was very glad to see that! There were several other brilliant performances put on by Rosario Dawson (Sun City, Seven Pounds, Death Proof) as June Bailey, Brendan Fraser (The Mummy Trilogy) as Tom Fitzpatrick, James Earl Jones (The Lion King, Star Wars XI: The Return of the Jedi, Conan the Barbarian) and Ann Dowd (Side Effects, Marley & Me, Garden State). Also  props to the director and writer of the film, New York native Ron Krauss.

One of the things that I thought was really interesting about this film is that it is based off real events. There are shelters like the one Apple came to, and her story is parts of stories of the girls who came to Kathy DiFiore's shelter. If you want to learn more about the shelters or the girls in them, check out Ms. DiFiore's website, http://www.severalsourcesfd.org/.

So I give this film a POP! However I wouldn't call it a must see. It is a great inspirational film and definitely puts the very real, common situation of these girls out there for people to hear. So these are my thoughts on Gimme Shelter.

Until next time...
